Jumperoo

I figured I may never really get caught up, so I’m just going to start going with the flow..

Here’s my almost 4 month old beautiful baby boy having fun in Caleb’s old jumperoo.

If anybody has baby toys they don’t want anymore, feel free to pass them down.. He really loves the lights on the jumperoo, but has no other things that light up..  Mommy will have to fix that.

Almost 14 weeks, just checking in..

My boys are both doing so well!  Jake is sleeping through the night and stays busy being adorable.  He’s wearing 6-9 months now, looks huge next to my friends newborn and loves hanging with his grammy everyday.  He tried cereal last night and LOVED it.  he actually smiled and laughed after his 1st bite.  He’s such a pig!    I wasn’t going to give him any food until after his 4 months check up but I just knew he would love it and he’s always hungry.  He is thinning out some already though.  He has 4 (6oz) bottles a day and is in a great routine.  He gets up around 6 am, eats around 10 or 11, then between 3 and 4, then around 8pm and then goes to sleep around 9ish and sleeps til 6am again.  Sometimes I have to go in and give him his paci around 3ish in the morning and he goes right back to sleep.  I never give him a bottle in the middle of the night because he just fusses for a second and goes right back to sleep when he gets the paci so I guess its a good thing.  He is just the best baby these days.

Caleb is really enjoying baseball (what’s new) and he’s getting SO, SO, SO good.  I think he was born to play.  Today is career day at school and  he dressed as a baseball player for the Orioles.  He is a great helper.  Best big brother ever.  He feeds Jake for me in the morning when I’m in a hurry and need help, and I feel bad for making him help me so much but luckily he doesn’t seem to mind it.

I’m always worried about if I’m being a good enough mother or wife.  I try so hard but never feel like I’m doing as good as I want to.   I wish I had more time to spend with my boys and more time to clean and more time for my friends, and maybe even a little me time :)   My sons are healthy and happy so I need to stop being so hard on myself  I guess.  They definitely LOVE ME!  I’m so lucky.

Here’s some recent pics.

Ummm, this is what happens when you let Daddy take Jake somewhere.. They met me at the baseball field last week for the 1st time, I came straight from work.  This is how I found Jakey..  check out the straps..  I guess Ryan thought he was going bungee jumping.  His hips are strapped in but not his shoulders.. not sure what in the world he was thinking.  (i was kinda upset about it, now its funny.)  I use a nice convertible car seat in my truck but I didn’t buy one for Ryan yet so he’s still in this old carrier.  He doesn’t like it too much.  Big boy likes his nice car seat in mommy’s truck much better.  Hopefully soon I can get Daddy and Grammy ones for their cars.  The look on his face is like “this is not funny MOM!”

mothers day

My family

12 weeks/ Back at work

Yesterday was my first day back at work.  I think I did really well.  It helps a lot that my momma is jakes babysitter.  She’s really so great.   I’m trying hard to stay positive and not be upset that I cant be a stay at home mom!  I’m lucky to have a decent job nearby, I don’t have to deal with traffic.  I have great benefits!  I don’t have to leave my baby with a stranger, etc..

Caleb was always in before and after care, when I had Jake he became a car rider and now my bug boy is finally a bus rider, since my moms at my house.  He started it a couple weeks ago and really likes it.  I can’t believe he’s going to be in the 2nd grade in the Fall.   He’s the best big bro a baby could have.  I’m very proud of my big guy.  He’s really excelling at baseball too.  He passed some lovely pink eye onto me right before my return to work so I have some lovely looking eyes today.   Shouldn’t they be white again by NOW!?  Also, on my 1st day back, I got a call from his school to pick him up because he fell in mud at recess and needed to change his clothes, shoes, everything! i don’t know why they let them play kickball on a muddy field!  and then make him upset about it and make him cry because he got muddy.. Just my opinion..  Its always something when you are a mom, thats for sure.

Jacob’s doing so good.  He has had 2 really bad crying days recently but other than that he’s a happy boy and sleeps from around 9 pm to  or 6 am.  He eats 6 ounces every 4 to 5 hours except during that long stretch at night.   Grandma and Grandaddy just got him a floor mat play thing that he loves.  He really enjoys looking in the mirror and kicking and swatting at the hanging toys.  There is a certain one that he always ends up grabbing and holding onto.  And of course, he loves his mommy so much.  When I talk to him he just smiles and gets so excited!

Jacob’s wearing 6 to 9 months now at 12 weeks.  At his 8 week appt he weighed almost 13 pounds!  Caleb weighed over 14 at 8 weeks.. so he still isn’t as big as his bubby was.. (that’s what Caleb calls Jake and himself, its bubby and big bubby?? oh well)

While on maternity leave the main thing we did every week was baseball, either practice or games.  I just love it.  I love our team, I love the parents, its so much fun.  I couldn’t make it with out my bff Megan though, she helps me SO much and I think she enjoys it :)

so, back at work means back to blogging!  And I must say Im so happy for the Mattesons right now! What a beautiful little boy.  Cant wait to see the rest of the 2011 babies!!

When Caleb met Jakey

I cannot get livewriter downloaded on my laptop so far, so these pics are in wrong order, and it took forever! This is when Caleb first saw jake, thats the bottom pic. then he walked over to me. When I hugged him I tearred up a little. I was so happy.

Wow

I'm so far behind I don't even know where to start.. Jake will be 5 weeks tomorrow! I have only blogged once since he was born. i can't believe how busy he keeps me, and TIRED. I swore I would get more sleep once he got here. How dumb was that! He's precious though. i bet he's already thinking I sure wish this lady would stop kissing on me. He was 7 lbs and 5 oz at his 1st dr appt the day after I left the hospital ( he was 7 lbs 10 oz at birth) and then when i took him back for his 2 week appt he was 8 lbs and 11 oz, so he gained almost a pound very quickly. He is a big eater. We had to switch up his food a few times but hopefully we have it figured out now. He doesnt goto the bathroom very often and its pretty firm still but is getting better. He definitely seems less fussy and gassy now. His eyes are blue like mine were when I was a baby but mine turned green and so Im pretty sure his will too. Ryan, his mom and my dad all have brown, along with Caleb and all of my siblings. Me, my mom and Ryans dad all have green. His hair is also finer and lighter like mine was as a baby. As for my labor, it went very fast towards the end. i didn't get an epidural til i was fully dialated. They didn't check me til right after I got it when I told them i couldnt move tolay down. I felt stuck. well his head was right there. it did take the edge off of the pain by the time he came out. I didn't push long at all. I felt great right away. All of those pregnancy pains and discomforts went away and my baby boy was finally in my arms. He pooped on me when he came out just like caleb had. Caleb got a kick out of that. as soon as they cleaned me up and got rid of all the blood and mess, Ryan went toget Caleb. I got emotional when I saw him. I was so overjoyed to see him and to have both of my boys together for the first time. He brought me two little notes that he made for me. I better get off her real quick, but I will post some pics soon from his birth-day.
