Yesterday was my first day back at work. I think I did really well. It helps a lot that my momma is jakes babysitter. She’s really so great. I’m trying hard to stay positive and not be upset that I cant be a stay at home mom! I’m lucky to have a decent job nearby, I don’t have to deal with traffic. I have great benefits! I don’t have to leave my baby with a stranger, etc..
Caleb was always in before and after care, when I had Jake he became a car rider and now my bug boy is finally a bus rider, since my moms at my house. He started it a couple weeks ago and really likes it. I can’t believe he’s going to be in the 2nd grade in the Fall. He’s the best big bro a baby could have. I’m very proud of my big guy. He’s really excelling at baseball too. He passed some lovely pink eye onto me right before my return to work so I have some lovely looking eyes today. Shouldn’t they be white again by NOW!? Also, on my 1st day back, I got a call from his school to pick him up because he fell in mud at recess and needed to change his clothes, shoes, everything! i don’t know why they let them play kickball on a muddy field! and then make him upset about it and make him cry because he got muddy.. Just my opinion.. Its always something when you are a mom, thats for sure.
Jacob’s doing so good. He has had 2 really bad crying days recently but other than that he’s a happy boy and sleeps from around 9 pm to or 6 am. He eats 6 ounces every 4 to 5 hours except during that long stretch at night. Grandma and Grandaddy just got him a floor mat play thing that he loves. He really enjoys looking in the mirror and kicking and swatting at the hanging toys. There is a certain one that he always ends up grabbing and holding onto. And of course, he loves his mommy so much. When I talk to him he just smiles and gets so excited!
Jacob’s wearing 6 to 9 months now at 12 weeks. At his 8 week appt he weighed almost 13 pounds! Caleb weighed over 14 at 8 weeks.. so he still isn’t as big as his bubby was.. (that’s what Caleb calls Jake and himself, its bubby and big bubby?? oh well)
While on maternity leave the main thing we did every week was baseball, either practice or games. I just love it. I love our team, I love the parents, its so much fun. I couldn’t make it with out my bff Megan though, she helps me SO much and I think she enjoys it :)
so, back at work means back to blogging! And I must say Im so happy for the Mattesons right now! What a beautiful little boy. Cant wait to see the rest of the 2011 babies!!
Aw, thanks Elaine!
