Relay for Life video

Mandi’s post today made me think about this video from last year and I wanted to share it.   Ryan Gilmartin died very suddenly when I was pregnant with Caleb.  He got sick, went to the hospital and died only 8 days later from Stomach cancer.  I believe he was 17.   He is my Aunt Jill’s (my fave aunt!) nephew on her side.  I’m very fortunate to have spent a lot of time with her family growing up.  They are all so wonderful and fun.  Very loving group of people.  We all miss Ryan and will walk for him on June 18th in Calvert.

 

Time with the Momma’s

Well, I had a flat tire when I left work so I got to dinner at 7 instead of 6. I was worried that I missed it and everyone would start to leave but we all stayed more than another hour which was great because I really needed some girl time!  It’s always nice to relax and laugh with some good friends!   I didn’t get to talk much to the girls at the other end though!  I think we have to do it again soon..

Caleb’s 6 month check up went great. He was a little antsy but other than that everything was good.  I’m so happy every time when they say no cavities, because I always think there will be!

Saturday after baseball practice my friend Meg and our boys, and Ryan went to Panera and the park.  I love swinging, even with a 50 pound boy on my lap I guess…

My Mother’s Day

 

I got so many wonderful hand-made gifts from Caleb as well as a new Willow Tree figurine of a mother and older son.  He’s updating them for me as he grows:)  I also got 2 gift cards and a new pair of flip flops.. ( I may have gotten those for myself but oh well).   Then we went to Church and I won for youngest mom again!  It’s crazy to me that I win that every year because I’m 28 now and I would think that there would be someone younger there but , it is a very small Church!  Ryan’s grandma won for most grandkids present and 2 ladies at our Church tied for oldest moms, and they were 90 something!  They look great though.  I hope to be as lucky as they are, sitting in Church with my children on Mother’s Day in my nineties. 

We had dinner at Ryan’s grandma’s and it was so yummy!  Then Ryan, Caleb, Alex, Damien and I went for a long ride through the woods on the 4 wheelers.  It was the best Mother’s Day ever.  I hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as I did.
